Batteries won't last long. I'd recommend getting both a hand-cranked flashlight as well as a pull-charged ceiling light like this one here:

As for powering the camping stove, I'd stay away from butane and go for propane instead since that would work better in colder conditions (nuclear winter), but the best option would be to still go for a wood burning stove since that would be the only option in an emergency situation.

The best case scenario would be to use an induction stovetop since that would be the most efficient system.
